Vintage Images CEO Opportunity

Job Description The CEO's responsibilities are entirely sales related. They include trade show representation, building and managing in-house and direct sales forces and recruiting advertising organizations as independent sales organizations. They will also have responsibility for major account sales. When sufficient scale is achieved, functional sales managers will be delegated direct responsibility for some of these functions.

CEO Qualifications

AlthoughVintage Images is a form of advertising agency, no experience in advertising or advertising sales is required. Some sales experience, especially sales management, is highly preferable, ideally in business sales and intangibles. Candidates without sales background, but with marketing experience will also be considered. Of equal or greater importance, however, are the following personal characteristics. A sense of humor is important, due to the nature of the product line, and a dynamic personality, strong communications skills and a strong drive for achievement are critical.

Compensation

Initial compensation will be commission-based, until defined revenue level is achieved. At that point, a salary and bonus system will be instituted, with target compensation in the $1M range. In addition, stock/equity grants should be valued at a minimum of several million, and should reach at least $10M valuation if targets are met.

Location Although Vintage Images is located in Metro DC, and it would be preferable for the CEO to reside in the same region, this is not a strict requirement. The CEO's primary responsibility will be managing all sales activities, and it is not considered vital that those be co-located with other operations.
Founder's Role Initially, the founder will handle all non-sales functions. As sufficient revenue is achieved, Finance, Operations and Creative Director functions will be assumed by new hires. Once those three positions are effectively staffed, founder will withdraw from day-to-day, operational involvement in the company.
